America's Food & Music Festival

CELEBRATE AMERICA’S 250TH AT THE GIANT BBQ BATTLE – JUNE 27 - 28. Proclaimed the Official National BBQ Championship on the floor of Congress, the festival unites barbecue lovers from across the nation with great food, live music and family fun. As part of the DC250 celebration, the BBQ Battle will showcase barbecue’s place in America’s story and bring visitors from around the world together for a shared taste of tradition.

Salute to America 250 Fireworks

Washington, D.C. will host major 250th-anniversary (Semiquincentennial) celebrations on July 4, 2026, featuring the Salute to America 250 Fireworks, a National Mall festival, and a U.S. Army 250th Anniversary Parade on June 14, 2026. Events include Washington Monument projections, the Great American State Fair (June 25–July 10), and the Rededicate 250 National Prayer Event on May 17, 2026.

Fresh Flavors and Farm Traditions From Across America

August 3, 2026 - August 8, 2026
During National Farmers Market Week, the Great American Farmers Market will feature more than 80 vendors from across the country showcasing fresh produce, artisan goods, and innovative agricultural products. Opening day includes a ribbon cutting and live entertainment. Each day highlights a special theme: Sunday celebrates America’s 250th anniversary, Monday focuses on health and wellness, Tuesday highlights community and shared values, Wednesday spotlights wildfire prevention and forestry, Thursday honors America’s natural beauty, and Friday celebrates farmers.

Freedom 250 Grand Prix

August 21, 2026 - August 23, 2026
The Freedom 250 Grand Prix of Washington D.C. will recognize the historic milestone of America's independence and celebrate the unparalleled tradition and legacy of America's motorsports industry.
This will take place Aug. 22-23, 2026, marking the first‑ever NTT INDYCAR SERIES race on the National Mall. The free, two-day motorsports event will celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with world‑class racing set against the backdrop of some of America’s most historic landmarks, including the Washington Monument and the U.S. Capitol.

The Patriot Games

September 1, 2026 - November 1, 2026
This first-of-its-kind athletic competition will spotlight male and female high school athletes from every state and territory. From opening heats to the live final day in front of a live audience, these competitors will light the torch for a new generation of Americans.
